Ingredients

  1. Dried Dates- 1 cup
  2. Milk- 4 cups
  3. 3.Instant Coffee Powder- 4 teaspoons
  4. 4.Heavy Cream- ½ cup
  5. Ice Cubes- ½ cup
  6. Powdered Sugar- 1 tablespoon
  7. Chocolate Chips – ¼ cup

Directions

  1. Let the dates soak in a cup of warm milk for 20-30 minutes.
  2. Next, add these dates and the remaining milk in a mixer bowl and make a smooth paste.
  3. Now, add the ice cube and coffee powder to this mixer bowl and blend again.
  4. In another bowl, mix sugar and cream together. Beat them till it becomes light.
  5. Now, pour the coffee from the mixer bowl into glasses. Put the cream on the top with some chocolate chips over it and serve chilled.

2 Caramel Custard

Ingredients

  1. Sugar- ¼ cup
  2. Vanilla Essence- ½ teaspoon
  3. Egg-3
  4. Milk- 3 cups

Directions

  1. Mix milk, sugar and vanilla essence in a bowl. Beat eggs into this mixture.
  2. For preparing caramel, heat sugar in a steel vessel. Spread the sugar all over the bottom surface of the bowl once it starts melting.
  3. Pour the mixture into it. Refrigerate it for an hour.
  4. Serve chilled with some toppings like Tutti Frutti.

3 Chocolate Pudding

If we are talking about desserts, then there has to be chocolate in it. This is because it is yummy and there are a variety of desserts we can prepare from chocolates. So, here is one such recipe!

Ingredients

  1. Corn Flour- 1 tablespoon
  2. Flour- 4 tablespoons
  3. Sugar- 1 cup
  4. Cooking Chocolate- 1 cup
  5. Milk- 2 cups
  6. Butter
  7. Whipping Cream- 1 tablespoon
  8. Grated Chocolate- 1 teaspoon
  9. Grated Coconut- 1 teaspoon

Directions

  • In a pan, combine sugar, flour, corn flour, cooking chocolate and milk.
  • Once it starts turning thick, add a little butter to it.
  • Turn off the flame once the butter melts completely.
  • Pour this chocolate mixture into small bowls or mould and keep them in the refrigerator.
  • After about an hour, the pudding will be set completely. Top it with grated chocolate, grated coconut and cream and serve.

4 Fruit Trifle

Ingredients

  1. Cake- 1
  2. Pudding Mix- 2
  3. Fruits- 3 cups
  4. Sugar- ½ cup
  5. Whipped Cream- ½ cup
  6. Honey – ¼ cup

Directions

  1. Using the pudding mix, make the pudding and allow it to cool and set.
  2. Mix all the chopped fruits in honey.
  3. Now, cut the cake into chunks of about 1 inch.
  4. In a bowl, place one chunk at the bottom. Spread half the fruits on top of it. Put the next layer of pudding on the fruits. Repeat this process till the bowl is filled completely.
  5. Put the whipped cream on the top and allow it to cool in refrigerator.

5 Phirni

Phirni is a type of rice pudding similar to Kheer but has a bit of different flavour added. So, let’s try this new type of dessert!

Ingredients

  1. Almonds- ½ cup
  2. Cashews- ½ cup
  3. Soaked Rice- ¼ cup
  4. Milk- 4 cups
  5. Cardamom Powder- 1 teaspoon
  6. Sugar- 1 cup
  7. Ghee- ¼ cup

Directions

  1. Make a coarse paste of cashews, almonds and the soaked rice.
  2. In a pot, boil milk. Once it starts boiling, stir in this paste into it. While stirring continuously, mix it properly and let it cook for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Next, put in sugar and cardamom powder. Once it thickens, switch off the flame.
  4. Pour it into a bowl and allow it to cool. Top it with sliced almonds and cashews. Serve chilled.

6 Pineapple Biscuit Pudding

Ingredients

  1. Chocolate biscuits- 20
  2. Tinned Pineapple- 1 cup
  3. Sugar- 1 tablespoon
  4. Cream- 2 cups
  5. Grated Chocolate- 2-3 teaspoons

Directions

  1. Separate out the syrup and the pineapple pieces from the tin. Chop the pineapple into small pieces.
  2. Mix the cream and sugar in a bowl.
  3. In a rectangular bowl, place the biscuits dipped in pineapple syrup. Put the pineapple pieces over it. Cover these pieces with a layer of whipped cream.
  4. Repeat these steps for two more times. Next, on the top sprinkle the grated chocolate and serve!

7 Thandai Mousse

Being Indians, we all are familiar with the drink ‘Thandai’. Here is a dessert made from Thandai along with an international twist added to it.

Ingredients

  1. Thandai Syrup -2 teaspoons
  2. China Grass Powder- 2 teaspoons
  3. Milk- 1 cup
  4. Sugar- 2 teaspoons
  5. Beaten Cream- 1 cup
  6. Lemon Juice- ½ teaspoon
  7. Green Pistachios- ¼ cup

Directions

  1. In a pan, add ½ cup of water, milk and the China grass powder. Let it boil.
  2. Now, add the thandai syrup and the sugar to this pan. Mix it well and allow it to cool for about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Strain this mix and transfer into a steel bowl. Let it stand so that it cools and thickens.
  4. Beat the whipped cream into this mixture and mix vigorously.
  5. Put the lemon juice and mix. Pour it into small bowls or glasses and allow it to freeze for 2-3 hours.
  6. Serve the Thandai Mousse with some dry fruits on the top.

  1. Mango Pulp- 1 cup
  2. Sugar- ½ cup

  1. Mix the whipped cream and sugar in a bowl. Let it stand for some time.
  2. In another bowl, mix little whipped cream along with the mango pulp.
  3. In a large bowl, put alternate layers of the mango pulp cream and whipped cream with sugar.

Even though the name is Custard, this is altogether a different type of dessert. It is a combination of Kheer-like thing and custard.

Ingredients

  1. Ghee
  2. Raisins- ¼ cup
  3. Cashews- ¼ cup
  4. Almonds- ¼ cup
  5. Semiya- 1 cup
  6. Milk- 2 cups
  7. Sugar- ½ cup
  8. Custard Powder- 1 tablespoon
  9. Cardamom Powder- ¼ teaspoon

Directions

  1. Add all the dry fruits along with ghee in a pan. Fry them for a minute.
  2. Next, add Semiya. Roast it properly.
  3. In another vessel, boil the milk and add the Semiya to it. Once the milk starts boiling, add sugar to it and stir occasionally.
  4. Mix the custard powder with a tablespoon of water and add it to the boiling mixture. Add cardamom powder as well.
  5. Pour it into serving bowl and serve warm.

  1. In a heavy bottomed pan, boil milk. In 2-3 tablespoons of milk, mix saffron and keep it.

  3. Next, add saffron, cardamom powder, rose water and sugar to this milk.
  4. Add all the chopped nuts and cook for 2-3 minutes.

  1. Mango Pulp- 3 cups
  2. Milk- 2 cups

  1. In a bowl, add sugar and milk to the mango pulp. Using a blender, make a thick mixture.

Another dessert made from milk which is quite similar to Basundi, Rabdi is a very popular dessert served at big occasions.

Ingredients

  1. Milk- 4 cups
  2. Sugar- 2 tablespoons
  3. Crushed Cardamom- ¼ teaspoon
  4. Sliced Almonds- 2 teaspoons
  5. Sliced Pistachios- 2 teaspoons

Directions

  1. In a frying pan, add milk and boil it. Once it starts boiling, keep the flame on low.
  2. Let the milk become ¾ its original volume. After about 20 minutes, add sugar and cardamom. Put the almonds and pistachios in it.
  3. Mix well and turn off the flame. Allow the Rabdi to cool and serve cold with some nuts on the top.

Ingredients

  1. Sabudana- 1/3 cup
  2. Milk- 3 cups
  3. Sugar- 3 tablespoons
  4. Cardamom Powder- ¼ teaspoon
  5. Saffron
  6. Sliced Pistachios- 2 tablespoons

Directions

  1. Soak the Sabudana in 1/3 cup of water. Leave it for about 2-3 hours.
  2. Till then, boil milk in a pan for 8-10 minutes. Stir continuously.
  3. Once the Sabudana becomes light and fluffy, add it to the boiling milk.
  4. After 4-5 minutes, add the cardamom powder, sugar, pistachios and saffron. Let everything cook for about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Allow it to cool and serve in a bowl.

16 Gajar Ka Halwa With Saffron Cream

Ingredients

  1. Shredded Carrots- 2 cups
  2. Milk- 2 cups
  3. Sugar- ¼ cup
  4. Cardamom Powder- ½ teaspoon
  5. Ghee

  8. Saffron

Directions

  1. In a pan, boil milk. Once it thickens, let it cool and keep it aside.
  2. In another pan, melt ghee. Add the shredded carrots and fry them for 8-10 minutes. Pour the milk in it. Let it cook for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Put the sugar, cardamom powder and mix well. Let it be on low flame for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Keep it aside so that it cools properly.
  5. Till then, mix cream, saffron and chopped almonds in a bowl. Blend it thoroughly.
  6. Now, at the bottom of a tall jar, put the bottom layer of halwa. Next, put a layer of cream. Repeat these steps till you reach the top.
  7. Keep it in refrigerator for an hour. Serve chilled with some nuts on the top.

Ingredients

  2. Saffron strands
  3. Corn Flour- 1 tablespoon

Directions

  1. In a bowl, mix saffron and a tablespoon of milk. Keep it aside.
  2. In another small bowl, mix corn flour with 2 tablespoons of water. Keep it aside as well.
  3. In a non-stick pan, heat the milk for about 5-6 minutes.
  4. Pour the corn flour mixture in it along with sugar. Let it cook for 24-25 minutes on low flame.
  5. Allow it to cool properly. Next, add the cardamom powder, saffron mixture and mix well.
  6. Pour this mixture into moulds and keep it in refrigerator to freeze for 3-4 hours.
  7. After it is set, remove it from the moulds, cut it into pieces and serve.

Directions

  1. For a night, soak the apricots in water.
  2. Next day, separate out the seeds. If we break its seeds, there are nuts inside it.
  3. In a pan, boil the apricots along with water for 15-17 minutes. After this, mash them in the pan itself and add sugar to it.
  4. You may add the nuts as well. Let it cook in the pan for 5-10 minutes.

  3. Prepare the Rabdi as instructed in the recipe of Rabdi. Next, soak the bread slices in sugar syrup for few minutes and remove them.
  4. Arrange them on a plate. Put all the nuts over it and pour the Rabdi over it. Serve cold or warm.

  1. Boil the milk in a pan while stirring it continuously. Next, add sugar and soda in it.
