It’s Christmas time coming up around the corner, its that time of the year for decorating trees, for merry and for some mouth watering dishes. Christmas feast for family and loved ones has always been in tradition being followed for centuries, try out these amazing appetizers to get your guests spellbound by your savories.

1.Cheesy potatoes

Potatoes have always been everybody’s favorite, capable of being savored almost three times a day, this dish melts in the mouth along with the cheese and the corn. This dish is best when served with garlic bread as starters.

2.Crispy Corn Chat

This dish makes in for a crispy and crunches appetite, its crispy from the top and soft from inside. It goes very well with green chutney.

3.Green Peas Seekh Kabab

This recipe is made on the stove and not barbecue. The seekh can be of bamboo or steel toe. Start with mashing the boiled potatoes and boiled peas followed by gram flour, onions, ginger garlic paste, mint, dry spices and salt, and refrigerate. Grease the skewers with oil, pass the skewer from middle leaving space at both the sides to hold. Heat the pan and place the Seekhs on the pan. Shallow fry till it gets golden. Serve with chutney.

4.Kati Roll

It used to be a street food in Kolkata where skewer roasted kebabs are wrapped in a paratha. To prepare the dough, mix together wheat, salt, oil, yoghurt and knead the dough and cover it for 90 minutes. To prepare the filling, add pander, turmeric, coriander, cumin powder, tomato paste and mix well along with freshly chopped coriander leaves and red onions. For the Khati Roll preparation take small mall portions from the dough and roll and bake them on a medium heat, Heat the pan with oil and followed by adding  =cumin powder, coriander powder, marinated mixture and saute well. Roll the Rotis after spreading mint chutney and the filling. You may pan fry the Rotis with a little butter.

5.Baked samosas

Baked samosas with potatoes and peas can be prepared by starting with the filling. For the filling you will have to combine oil, cumin seeds over a medium heat in the pan, then add garlic, ginger, chilli powder followed by peas and mashed potatoes. Fill your spring roll wrappers with this filling and bake for 20-25 minutes by preheating the oven to 400F.

6.Masala Chick Peas and Apple

Start by heating the pan on medium heat and saute the onion, and ginger with garam masala, coriander powder, chili powder, salt. Once the former set gives a golden color you may add apple and chick peas. Make sure that spices and salt are very well adjusted with the Apples and the Chick Peas. Make it cool down to the normal temperature.

7.Palappam

It is one of the most savored dishes in Kerala, especially among the Christian community. Firstly, cook semolina with 2 glasses of water till it reaches a thick consistency, then add a quarter cup of lukewarm water to a half teaspoon yeast and mix it well. Take a vessel and add two cups of rice flour and add the cooked semolina along with thick coconut milk slowly. Keep the mixture overnight. Mix the batter well next day and add coconut milk. Heat the pan and pour the batter one by one with a huge spoon and rotate the appachatti(appamkadai).Cover and cook.

8.Spicy peach chutney

Take a heavy pot, start stirring the peaches, raisins, garlic, onion, ginger, chili powder, mustard seed, curry powder and vinegar. Boil all these and cook over medium heat until it reaches a proper consistency.

9.Fish Fingers

Clean the fish and marinate it with ginger, green chili, pepper, garlic along with ground paste. After keeping the mixture for an hour, dip the marinated pieces into flour and deep fry.

10.Mushroom and Spinach Spring Rolls

Heat the oil in the pan, on heating add chopped onions, celery, spring onion and minced garlic followed by chopped mushrooms when the onions become soft. Once the mushrooms get cooked add spinach leaves (chopped).Melt butter in a pan, add flour and followed by milk and cheese respectively, keep stirring till it reaches a thicker consistency and adds it to the mushroom mixture. To make the pancake batter, whisk together the flour, eggs, water, and salt. Heat the pan and pour the pancake mixture one by one into diameters of 5 cm each, cook them one sided. Fill the pancakes with the mixture, Gently roll them and deep fry.

11.Grilled Cheese Chicken Sandwich

Mix the minced chicken, green chili, and onion in a food processor. To this mixture add chopped parsley and mayonnaise with a pinch of salt. Take the bread slices and apply butter to both the sides of the bread and keep a cheese slice above the bread with the spreading of the mixture following up and close it with another slice. Cook the sandwich by keeping it on the pan after melting half teaspoon butter.

12.Idli Manchurian

This dish takes around 10 minutes, it serves as a spicy appetizer. Start off with boiling the chillies in boiling water until they are tender and add vinegar, garlic, ginger, tomato sauce, soy, sauce, corn starch. Mix them well until they reach a thicker consistency. Now cut the idlies into small pieces and fry them. Once fried take the idlies in a bowl and pour the mixture over it.

13.Crispy Aloo Tikky

It is considered as the most popular street food in India. Boil the Potatoes and shred them, cut them into 8 equal parts and roll them into patties and refrigerate. For the chola topping was the Chickpeas. Mash the Chickpeas. Meanwhile heat the pan, add onions, ginger, garlic, chola, cumin powder, garam masala powder, chili powder. Mix it well. Fry the patties and serve it with chola toppings.

14.Bread Vada

Boil potatoes and mash them and add garam masala, juice of lime, salt and chili powder and keep it aside. Add potatoes mixture in a pan after heating the oil, followed by cumin powder and cilantro. Mix it well and make small balls. Now take the bread slices and dampen them with water and draw out the water completely. Fill it with potato balls and deep fry.

15.Stuffed Paneer Bread Rolls

For the Paneer mixture, mix thinly chopped onions, green chillies, cumin powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, ginger, garlic, sour cream, tomato paste. Add the crumbled paneer to this mixture. After combining all the ingredients let it marinate for 20 minutes. Then take a frying pan, heat oil and add mashed potatoes along with the mixture and mix them for a while. Fill these inside Breads Rolls and deep fry.

16.Cauliflower Panko Pakoras

Blend together half cup Panko, baking soda, cumin powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder and other spices. In another bowl whisk egg. Add cauliflower and mix until all florets are covered. Place it in the oven after preheating it at 475 degrees.
