Maize, commonly known as ‘Corn’, is a type of grain that is considered very healthy. The best thing is that with being healthy, it is tasty as well. There is variety of dishes prepared using corn, and few are given below! So, do try them!
1.
Corn Bhel
We all Indians love the street food, Bhel. Regardless of the age group, Bhel is a favourite dish for all of us! So, let’s add a twist to it with corn!
Ingredients-
Corn Kernels- 1 cup
Chopped Onion- ½ cup
Chopped Tomato- ½ cup
Boiled Potatoes- 2
Chat Masala
Chopped Green Chillies- 3-4
Green Chutney- 2 tablespoons
Tamarind Chutney- 2 tablespoons
Coriander leaves
Lemon Juice- 1 & ½ teaspoon
Salt
Crushed Corn Flakes- 1 cup
Steps-
Put the corn kernels in three cups of water. Let it boil for 3-4 minutes. Once it gets boiled completely, drain the excess water.
Transfer it to a bowl. Add tomatoes, onion, potatoes cut into small cubes, green chillies, green chutney, tamarind chutney, chat masala to it. Mix lemon juice and salt in it.
Once it is properly mixed, garnish it with coriander leaves and crushed cornflakes. Your Corn Bhel is ready to be served!

Corn Chaat
Being Indians, we all are fond of another dish – ‘Chaat’. Let’s make a new type of Chaat using corn kernels!
Ingredients-
Corn kernels- 1 cup
Paneer cubes- ½ cup
Chopped Onion- ½ cup
Chopped Tomato- ½ cup
Grated Carrot- ½ cup
Chopped Green Chili- 1
Coriander Leaves
Chaat Masala
Lemon Juice- 1 tablespoon
Salt
Pepper
Steps-
Boil corn for 3-4 minutes in three cups of water. After it is boiled, drain the water.
In a pan, fry the paneer cubes in one teaspoon of ghee or butter.
Add corn kernels, paneer and all the mentioned ingredients in a bowl. Mix well.
Serve hot with coriander leaves on the top.

Sweet Corn Vegetable Soup
This is one of the most ordered soups in any of the hotels as many of us like it. So, why not try making it at home? Here is a simple recipe for it!
Ingredients-
Corn Kernels- 1 & ½ cup
Corn Starch
Green peas- ¼ cup
Chopped Carrots- ¼ cup
Chopped Beans- ¼ cup
Chopped Onions- ¼ cup
Salt and pepper
Steps-
Take a small pot, put butter and saute the vegetables in it for 2-3 minutes.
Next, add 2-3 cups of water to it and let it boil. Keep it on a low flame.
Till it boils, add corn starch in a small amount of water. Pour this into the pot and stir a little.
Add salt to taste and serve with pepper. Serve hot to enjoy!
4.
Corn Pulav
We all have eaten the classic Vegetable Pulav, but here is another recipe with corn added to Pulav which becomes ready in minutes!
Ingredients-
Basmati Rice- 1 cup
Oil
Cloves
Cinnamon – 1
Green Cardamoms
Peppercorns
Bay Leaf- 1
Chopped Onion- ½ cup
Ginger Paste
Garlic Paste
Chopped Green Chillies- ¼ cup
Green peas- ¼ cup
Salt
Steps-
Wash the rice under running water properly and then soak it for at least 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, drain the water.
Now, take a pan and add oil to it. Keep it on low flame and saute all the hot spices in it for a minute. Put onions in it.
After they become soft and pink in colour, add green chillies, ginger and garlic paste to it.
Add corn kernels, salt, garam masala, green peas to it and mix.
Add rice after a minute and pour in water as well.
Let the water boil, and then lower the flame. Cover the vessel with a lid for almost 17-18 minutes.
Open the lid after 10 minutes and serve hot.

Corn Pancake
If pancakes are your favourite, then you must try this new type of Pancake!
Ingredients-
Corn Kernels- ¾ cup
Flour- 2 cups
Baking Powder
Salt
Black Pepper Powder
Egg – 1
Milk – ½ cup
Oil
Steps-
Put flour, black pepper powder, baking powder and salt in a bowl and mix well.
Beat an egg in this bowl. Grind Corn Kernels with milk in a mixer and add to the mixture.
Add some corn kernels as well and mix properly.
Heat a pan with some oil in it and pour batter in it in the shape of a disc. Let it cook properly.
Serve with olives and tomato on the top.

Corn Pakoda
While it is raining heavily, we at home enjoy having Pakodas the most! So, this season let’s enjoy the rains with a little twist added to it!
Ingredients-
Corn Kernels- 1 cup
Flour- ¼ cup
Green Chilli Paste- 2 teaspoons
Ginger Paste- 1 & ½ teaspoon
Chaat Masala
Coriander Powder
Salt
Oil
Steps-
Grind all the corn kernels in a mixer and place it in a bowl.
Mix green chilli paste, ginger paste, coriander powder, chaat masala, flour and salt and add to the bowl. Mix well.
Heat oil in a kadai and put small portions of the batter in the oil. Fry them properly so that they become golden-brown in colour.
Place them on a tissue paper to take away excess oil.
Serve hot with green chutney.

Corn Sabji
We all eat vegetables of different kinds, some being our favourite. Now, let’s try a new type of Sabji!
Ingredients-
Sweet Corn Kernels- 2 cups
Grated Coconut- ¼ cup
Ginger
Green chillies- 4
Chopped Coriander Leaves
Oil
Mustard Seeds
Curry Leaves
Milk- ½ cup
Curd – 2 tablespoon
Steps-
Take out 200 ml of the cooking liquid from the corn.
Now, put coconut, green chillies, coriander leaves and ginger in a mixer bowl and grind it. Add the corn liquid to it as well.
Now, take a pan and put curry leaves and mustard seeds in the oil. Add the ground mixture to it. Let it heat for a minute.
Now, add curd, milk and cooked corn and let it cook for 5-10 minutes.
Your Corn Sabji is ready!

Corn Breakfast Bowl
Corn is full of nutrients and so it is considered one of the best thing you can have for you breakfast. So, here is a perfect breakfast dish for you!
Ingredients-
Corn Kernels- 1 cup
Chopped Onion- ¼ cup
Butter
Salt
Chilli Powder
Cumin
Mayonnaise
Lime Juice- 2 tablespoon
Steps-
Take a pan and heat some butter in it. Put the corn kernels and chopped onions in the pan. Let it cook for 8-10 minutes and stir occasionally.
Put salt and pepper for taste. After 8-10 minutes, sprinkle cumin and chilli powder as well.
In the pan with heat off, mix Mayonnaise and lime juice in it.
Transfer this to a bowl and garnish with coriander leaves.
You can also add cheese to this and enjoy your healthy breakfast!

Corn Fingers
Amazed hearing the name? Surely, this is going to be one of the most favourite and tasty snack which will be ready in minutes!
Ingredients-
Grated Corn – 1 cup
Milk- 1 cup
Pepper Powder
Grated Cheese- ¼ cup
Cooked Rice- 1 cup
Chopped Green Chillies- 1
Maida – 1 tablespoon
Corn flour- 1 tablespoon
Water- ½ cup
Bread crumps- ½ cup
Cumin Seeds
Butter
Salt
Steps-
In a pan add butter and let the cumin seeds splutter.
Next, add the salt, corn and pepper to it. Add milk and let it cook till the entire milk is absorbed.
Now, add cooked rice. Cover the pan with a lid. After 5 minutes, mash the mixture.
Transfer this cooked mixture to a dish. Take another pan with oil enough for frying in it.
Shape this mixture in the form of small fingers as shown in the figure and deep fry them.
Serve with chutney or sauce.

Corn Chicken Soup
With all the vegetarian recipes so far, are you waiting for a non-veg dish? If yes, then this is the perfect soup recipe for you!
Ingredients-
Sweet Corn- 2 cups
Chicken- ½ cup
Chopped Spring Onion- ¼ cup
Grated Ginger
Chopped Onions- ¼ cup
Corn Flour- 2 tablespoons
Soy Sauce
Egg- 1
Sugar
Salt
Oil
White Pepper Powder
Steps-
Take a heavy bottomed vessel, put ginger and chopped onion in it. Fry it for a minute. Add shredded chicken to this along with sweet corn and water. Let the water boil.
While the soup is on low flame, add salt and pepper for taste. Let it cook for another 3-4 minutes.
In another bowl, mix little water and corn flour. Now, pour this mixture into the vessel.
Keep stirring till it turns thick. Beat one egg in this mixture and make sure that you stir only in one direction.
Once the egg turns into white threads, stop stirring and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.
Pour it into a serving bowl with spring onions and soy sauce. Serve hot!
11.
Corn Kheer
This recipe combines a unique combination of a famous sweet dish with the nutritious corn!
Ingredients-
Sweet Corn kernels- ½ cup
Raw Rice- ¼ cup
Sugar
Milk- 3 cups
Vanilla essence
Grated Coconut- ¼ cup
Ghee
Saffron
Steps-
Saute the corn kernels in butter in a pan. Next, grind them so as to make a coarse paste.
Make coarse powder of raw rice as well. Now, fry the grated coconut in ghee and keep it aside.
Take a heavy bottomed pan, and put rice powder and milk in it. Let it boil for 7-8 minutes on low flame.
Once the rice is properly cooked, add corn paste and sugar to it. Let the sugar dissolve completely.
Now, add vanilla essence and coconut as well.
Now, transfer this to a bowl. You can top it with dry fruits if you like.

Sweet Corn Halwa
We all have heard of Gaajar Halwa, Lauki Halwa but have you ever heard of Sweet Corn Halwa? If not, then try this Halwa which is very easy to prepare!
Ingredients-
Sweet Corn- 3 cups
Ghee
Mawa- ¾ cup
Sugar
Chopped Cashew Nuts
Elaichi
Pistachios
Steps-
Make a paste of the sweet corn with the help of a mixer.
In a pan, add little ghee and the paste. Once it starts to change its colour, then it indicates that the paste is dry enough.
Next, add Mawa and stir for some time.
Pour in water and sugar in another vessel. Let the water boil. Once the sugar syrup is ready, add the previously made mixture to it. Put some cashew nuts as well.
Keep stirring till it gets cooked properly. Put the Elaichi powder as well.
Apply some ghee to a plate and transfer this mixture to the plate.
Garnish it with pistachios and cashew nuts. Let it set for 1-2 hours.
Cut it into small squares once it is condensed properly and serve!
13.
Spinach Corn Pakoda
Let’s add some nutrients and green-ness to our traditional Pakodas with spinach and corn!
Ingredients-
Corn- 2 cups
Spinach- ½ cup
Ginger Garlic paste
Chopped Green Chillies- 3-4
Cumin Seeds- 1 teaspoon
Roasted Gram- ¼ cup
Rice Flour- ¼ cup
Salt
Oil
Steps-
In a mixer, grind first four ingredients. Transfer it to a bowl and add salt, rice flour and roasted gram to it.
Mix it well. Once this is done, deep fry small smallPakodas of this batter.
After they turn golden brown, put them on a paper to remove excess oil. Serve hot with Tomato Sauce or Chutney.
14.
Corn On Cob With Milk And Honey
With such a name given to the recipe, you must be thinking that it would be difficult to make it. But, this is a simple recipe and a must try for all the corn lovers!
Ingredients-
Corn Kernels- 3 cups
Milk- 1 cup
Heavy Cream- ½ cup
Butter
Honey- 3 tablespoons
Cajun seasoning
Salt
Ground peppercorns
Ingredients-
In a pot, add water and all the ingredients listed above. Let the flame be low so that the butter melts.
Do not let the corn boil. Let it simmer for about 8-10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, transfer it to a bowl and garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
15.
Corn Curry
We all are habitual of eating curry with rice during our meals. So, let’s have a different curry this time!
Ingredients-
Sweet Corn Kernels- 2 cups
Chopped Capsicum- ½ cup
Chopped Onion- ½ cup
Chopped Green Chillies
Ginger Garlic paste
KasuriMethi- 1 teaspoon (crushed)
Turmeric Powder
Red Chilli Powder
Coriander Powder
Garam Masala Powder
Chopped Tomatoes- ¼ cup
Smooth paste of Cashew nuts
Fresh Cream- 1 tablespoon
Salt
Oil
Steps-
Take a cooking vessel. Add onions to it with oil and let the onions fry till they become translucent.
Next, add ginger garlic paste and green chillies to it. You should add capsicum as well.
After 2-3 minutes, add kasurimethi, turmeric powder, salt, red chili powder,coriander powder and cumin powder. Mix well.
Put in tomatoes, corn and mix properly. Pour in water and let it cook for 4-5 minutes till the water boils.
Once this is done, put on a lid. Let it cook for 10-20 minutes.
Next, mix the cashew nut paste and garam masala and let this cook for another minute. Now, add cream keeping it on a low flame and stir continuously.
Once cooked properly, transfer to a bowl and top it with coriander leaves.
16.
Corn Toast
Toasts have become one of the most eaten snacks in today’s world for the youngsters. We can easily customize it with our choice of vegetables. So, here is a different type of toast with a flavour of corn added to it!
Ingredients-
Corn Kernels- 3 cups
Milk- 2 cups
Flour- 1 tablespoon
Cumin seeds- ½ teaspoon
Black pepper- ¼ teaspoon
Salt
Lemon Juice- 1 teaspoon
Grated Cheese- ¼ cup
Bread
Steps-
Add milk and corn kernels to a pan and let the corn cook. Make sure they do not burn.
Once this is done, transfer it to a large bowl and add flour to it. With the help of a blender, mash the corn a little.
Now, take another pan with some oil in it. In the heated oil, add cumin seeds.
When they begin to crack, you should add black pepper, salt, corn mixture and red bell pepper if available.
Stir a little and keep it on medium flame for 2-3 minutes.
Now, add grated cheese and cover with a lid.
Once the cheese melts and corn is cooked properly, place it in a serving dish.
Serve it with a bread toast and chili flakes.
17.
Corn Khees
This recipe is really very tasty and is one of my favourites! You should really try this one as it is extremely delicious!
Ingredients-
Corn- 4
Milk- 1 cup
Grated Coconut – 2-3 tablespoon
Ghee
Green chillies
Ginger
Cumin Seeds
Mustard Seeds
Red Chilli Powder
Turmeric Powder
Salt
Sugar
Lemon Juice
Steps-
Grate the corn properly and separate out the pulp.
Now, take a pan with some ghee in it. Once it gets heated, add some cumin seeds and mustard seeds to it.
After a minute, add green chillies, ginger, turmeric powder and corn paste to it. Let the paste roast for 5-6 minutes. Next, put chilli powder and mix well.
Now, pour in milk and sugar and stir continuously.
After 5 minutes, add salt and mix again. Put a lid over it and keep it on low flame for 5-10 minutes.
When the ghee starts separating, you will understand that the Khees is properly cooked.
Serve in a dish with some lemon juice and coriander leaves over it. Tasty Corn Khees is ready!
18.
Corn Paratha
You must be wondering that in one of these recipes, there has to be Paratha, as it fills our stomach and is tasty as well! So, here is a Corn Paratha that is equally tasty!
Ingredients-
Flour- 1 cup
Sweet Corn cobs – 2-3
Oil
Coriander Leaves
Chopped Green Chillies
Ajwain
Salt
Steps-
Grate the corn cob and separate out the pulp. Once the pulp is ready, add it to the flour.
Mix salt, green chillies, ajwain, and coriander leaves into the flour mixture and mix well.
Pour in water as per need to turn it into a soft dough. Now, set it aside for about 20 minutes.
After the time is lapsed, the dough will become fluffy. Remember to cover it with a cloth or lid.
Now, roll a small portion of dough into a circle. Till then, heat a pan with some ghee/oil in it.
Put the rolled Paratha in the pan and let it cook. Let it get fried properly on both the sides.
Serve hot with a pickle!
19.
Corn Paneer Balls
Whenever there is a special dish made, there has to be paneer in it as it is healthy and delicious as well!
Ingredients-
Sweet Corn Kernels- 1 cup
Paneer- ½ cup
Bread Crumbs- ½ cup
Corn Flour- 3-4 tablespoon
Green Coriander
Grated Ginger- 1 teaspoon
Chopped Green Chillies
Salt
Black Pepper
Oil
Ingredients-
Boil the corn kernels in water for about 5-6 minutes. Grind these cooked corn in a mixer.
Next, grate paneer and add it to the ground corn. To this mixture, add green chillies, corn flour, ginger paste, salt and black pepper.
Mix it well and make small balls of it. Once the balls are made, cover them with bread crumbs.
In a vessel, pour in oil enough for frying. Put 2-3 balls at a time and deep fry them.
Sweet Corn Paneer Balls are ready to be eaten! Serve hot with ketchup.
20.
Corn Dhokla
One of the most famous dishes for Gujaratis is the Dhokla. It is basically made of besan. Later, there were additions made to it like Rava Dhokla. Here is one of such type of recipes which uses corn for making Dhokla!
Ingredients-
Sweet Corn- 2 cups
Rawa- 1 cup
Curd- 1 cup
Salt
Grated Ginger
Lemon
Eno Powder- ¾ teaspoon
Oil
Rie
Curry leaves
Green chillies
Chopped coriander leaves
Steps-
Mix the rava and curd in a bowl to make a thick mixture. Let it stand for some time till it gets fermented.
Till then, grate the corn to make a paste. Add salt, ginger and lemon juice to this paste. Add the corn mixture as well. Keep this aside for about 5 minutes.
Now take a big vessel, and add 2-3 cups of water to it. In this vessel, place a stand so that we can keep a plate over it.
Once the mixture starts to form bubbles, add some Eno powder to it. Take a plate and apply some oil over it.
Pour the batter into the plate and place it in the vessel. As the steam forms, keep it on a low flame.
After about 20 minutes, your Dhokla will be ready!
In another small pan, put Rie, green chillies and curry leaves in heated oil. Saute them for about a minute and then pour this Tadka over the Cut Dhokla pieces!
Serve with any kind of Chutney!
