1Gram Flour Chilla
This is personally one of my favourite recipes of all times. You can call it your ‘Veg Omelette’ as well.
Ingredients
- Besan (Gram flour) – 1 cup
- Ajwain (Carom seeds) – ¼ teaspoon
- Red chilli powder – 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder – ¼ teaspoon
- Garam masala – ¼ teaspoon
- Salt – to taste
- Water
- Oil
Here you can add various veggies to it as well like chopped onions, capsicum, tomato etc or can skip it and make a plain Chilla as well. The choice is completely yours.
Method
- Take gram flour, carom seeds and all the spices together and mix it well.
- Add all the vegetable cuttings (onion, tomato, carrot, capsicum, green chilli) to the mixture so that veggies are coated well with the flour.
- Add little amount of water to the combination and blend well to get a lump free batter because if you tip all the water at the same time you will be getting lump full batter. Continue the procedure until you get a runny batter. Add salt according to your taste.
- Place a pan on medium heat and drizzle two tablespoons of oil upon it. Once hot, pour the spoonful batter and spread it in a round shape structure. Let the Chilla cook on one side for a couple of minutes until it attains golden brownish colour.
- Dribble some oil on top and then flip it. Cook it for the same interval of time until the right colour is obtained.
