Well, who doesn’t want a crisp of a hot piping dish served in a minute…It is rightly said-“Pull up a chair. Take a taste. Come join us. Life is so endlessly delicious.” A day without snacks or a meal without starters would be as dull as the proverb ‘all work and no play’! Snacks must for sure be luscious and adept, so you can wallow in them when hunger strikes at odd times. Following are food items which will take only a couple of minutes or so to serve with an eternal effect on taste buds.

1.Veg Bungee Burger

Whether you are looking for an evening snack or a hot fulfilling meal, this huge bungee burger provides a quick solution to your hunger. Can be prepared within minutes by just frying buns and a thin layer of potato slices used as a tikki. It has entire versatile stuffing, including cauliflower, tomatoes, onion, load and bulk of cheese! Preferable to be served with an ice-chilled coke and deep fried potato French finger fries.


2.Pan Pizza

To our surprise! Pizza can be served within minutes. Put the bread base on a clean, dry surface and place  ¼th of the pizza sauce and ¾   of batter and spread it evenly. Let the slice and batter be cooked on a non-stick pan for a minute. Remove the dish so prepared after a minute and garnish it with a few of green capsicum, steaming yellow baby corn and zucchini evenly over it. Finally sprinkle mixed herbs, chili flakes, oregano and ¼ cup of cheese evenly over it.

Idli is one of the healthiest protein packed breakfast cum snacks from South Indian Cuisine. They are made from a few type of dals and rice and usually served with chutney or a tiffin sambhar. Procedure for making idlis is as simple as it may sound. Generally, a rava batter is simmered in a pressure cooker for a minute and soft idlis so obtained are made to fry in a wok containing oil. After they turn reddish brown they are kept in a plate. Add to it a pinch of chaat masala over the fried idlis and serve these hot crispy crunchy fried idlis with tea, coffee or with side accompanying coconut chutney. 13.Mozzarella Sticks

Allow flour to dredge with the mozzarella sticks, shake off the excess. Separately, dip in the beaten egg, one by one, coating completely. Put the sticks on a plate and freeze for 15 minutes. Fry the mozzarella sticks until reddish brown, for about 1 minute.  Drain on paper towels and serve with hot sauce.

This quick and easy Suji Upma recipe is traditionally served for breakfast, though we can have it anytime a day. Add in the Suji and roast it. Little golden color will be observed after a few minutes and it will emit a sublime aroma. On simmered heat, in a non-stick pan, pour 1 tbsp of Oil. Allow it to heat up and then add in the Mustard Seeds. Once they start popping, add the Cumin Seeds, Channa Dal & some handful of Peanuts. Cook for up to few seconds and add in Broken cashews and urad dal and let them turn yellowish golden in color.
Add in the Dry Red Chili, Turmeric Powder, and Asafoetida. Mix it well until the Onions are cooked but no browning. Also add salt now as per taste. Meanwhile, whisk the Yogurt with the Water and pour it into the pan. Keep mixing. Add in Ginger and allow the liquid to come to a boil. Once it starts boiling, lower heat and add in the Suji little at a time. Mix really well and make sure there are no dry lumps/spots of Suji. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes. Mix and stir up the Upma. Turn the flame off, cover and allow it to rest for another 5 minutes. Open and serve with Cilantro as garnishing (lime juice optional).


15.Chicken Wings with Sweet Chili Sauce

It’s no secret that we love chicken wings — especially baked chicken wings. Fried ones are too good, but we’re not usually up to frying at home. It’s really simple to cook. Add up to 3/4 of a cup of sweet chili sauce, 2 teaspoons of soya sauce and 1 tbsp of the chili sauce, depending on how spicy things you like. Flip up the sauce with prepared chicken wings and bake until yellowish golden brown, crispy and crunchy.



Lassi is a chilled sweet yogurt drink. It tastes awesome when served with cardamom and topped with chopped nuts. As an addition, it is traditional drink of Punjab and Haryana. To start with, add some amount of yogurt or curd (Dahi) in a bowl. Add some amount of chilled water to it. Add 1 to 2 tbsp of sugar or add as per taste. For best taste and results, add1 teaspoon cardamom powder or 2 tbsp rose water. A few strands of saffron (Cesar) are optional.  



A very tasty home made custard can be prepared on the stove top in just minutes. It serves all purposes of dessert or main course. It is a great option as Christmas pudding. Pretty easy tomake,Whisk eggs, corn flour, and milk together in a saucepan until very smooth. Continue whisking on stove top until custard becomes thick and creamy. Remove from heat, then whisk in sugar and vanilla.


18.Rawa Kachori

Kachori is one of the most popular snacks in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan (in Kota). Mostly Kachoris are made with maida (all-purpose flour) and stuffe with spicy mixture and them subsequently deep fried. It is served as a snack and at times also as lunch along with chutney or with curry and relish eating. In this recipe, we used simply rava or coarse rava. Never ever use other Sooji (rava) for this recipe. It will not work that well and kachoris won’t come out good. Generally, dal or meshed onion, dal filling can also be used to serve the purpose. You can a replace it with any filling of your choice. Be creative and be imaginative, versatile. Seal the sides of kachori before frying. After deep frying, your hot kachoris are ready to be served.


19.Rawa Cake

You might have learned about chocolate cake or other flavored cakes but have you ever imagined of making Rava cake or suji cake. In this rava cake recipe, semolina (Suji) is used as the base. In a medium sized bowl, mix together rava, yogurt (curd) and sugar. Form batter by adding softened ghee to medium sized bowl. Wait sometime until it rests. Heat oven to 180 degree Celsius . Add baking soda, cardamom powder and other optional ingredients – vanilla extract and sliced almonds. Whisk well. Line your cake pan with aluminum foil paper and gently sprinkle and drizzle it with a few drop of ghee. Pour the batter evenly into it. Sprinkle some saffron strands on top.
